Aphrodite has many myths on how she was created. One of them is that she is the daughter of Zeus and Dorian. Another is that that she was the daughter of Uranus. But the most common myth is, Cronus's blood was spilled into the ocean and Aphrodite rose from the water on sea foam. She was pure beauty and the west wind nearly lost his breath. Aphrodite then, traveled on the sea foam to the island Cytherus where she met the Three Graces. They were the goddess of charm, beauty, and creativity.
The three Graces dressed Aphrodite and sent her to Mt. Olympus. Zeus saw the beauty, and didn't want the Olympians wooing her constantly, so he immediately married her to Hephaestus, the ugly metal working god. Aphrodite said she loved him, but had a secret love for Ares.
